Worship at Glynde Church

Glynde Church values Bible focused, prayerful and musical worship.  There is no one style of worship that is dominant at Glynde, but several styles equally valued for what they offer people with different tastes and worship understandings.

Sunday 9am offers traditional styled music and liturgy using a blend of the best traditional hymns, All Together music, Taize and Worship Today.  Our music is played by gifted musicians on either full pipe organ or acoustic piano. Communion is offered the first and third Sundays of each month – all Christians are welcome.  Healing prayer is available at the altar during communion.  Preaching is Bible based and informal in style.  Our worship follows the traditional lectionary, so there will be Bible readings familiar to Uniting Church, Catholic, and Anglican traditions.  A large screen projects all the words and liturgy necessary so everyone from long-time Christians to newcomers can participate together.

After the 9am service you can join with other Christians for a cup of tea/coffee in our air conditioned hall.  You are also welcome to use our internet cafe for free at any time on Sunday morning.

Sunday 10.30am offers informal worship with band.  We use a variety of music styles including Parachute Band, Belfast Revival, Hillsong, All Together, and Planetshakers.  Our bands range from full rock sound with drums to more subtle tones with piano and acoustic instruments.  We have a weekly children’s address for primary school aged (and under) children before they head off to Sunday School.  Children are also welcome to stay for the full duration of worship.  Holy Communion is offered every first and third Sunday of the month.  While you are at the altar you may like to receive healing prayer with the laying of hands.  Preaching is informal and sometimes even conversational.

After the 10.30am service you are welcome to mingle with other worshippers in our foyer and enjoy a coffee and biscuit.
